Unearthing Your CalendarID for Zapier Integrations: A Step-by-Step Guide

Published on Feb 28th, 2024

In the ever-connected world of productivity and scheduling, Zapier stands out as an essential tool for automating tasks between different applications. One common automation involves syncing events between a calendar app and other tools or services. To create such an automation (often referred to as a 'Zap'), you may need to find your CalendarID, a unique identifier that represents your calendar on a digital platform.

Firstly, it's important to note that your CalendarID is not a universal concept; its location and accessibility can vary depending on the service you are using. For Google Calendar users, which is commonly integrated with Zapier, finding your CalendarID is simple. Begin by opening your Google Calendar. On the left-hand side, you will find the 'My calendars' section. Hover over the calendar you wish to integrate with Zapier and click on the three dots that appear beside it, then select 'Settings and sharing'. Within the settings, scroll down until you find the 'Integrate calendar' section, where your CalendarID is listed under the 'Calendar ID' field. This ID usually appears in an email address format and is unique to your specific calendar.

For other calendar services, such as Microsoft Outlook or Apple Calendar, determining your CalendarID may require looking into your account settings or developer documentation. These platforms may not reference the term 'CalendarID' directly, but they will provide unique identifiers or API endpoints that function similarly when setting up Zaps with Zapier.

Once you have your CalendarID, head to Zapier and create a new Zap. When prompted to connect your calendar service, enter the CalendarID into the necessary field. With this ID, Zapier will be able to interact specifically with the calendar you have chosen, allowing for a seamless automation process that can range from sending meeting reminders to creating tasks based on your appointments.

Having trouble locating your CalendarID? Consult your calendar service's help center or reach out to their customer support. With a bit of investigation and the right guidance, your CalendarID will unveil itself, leading you one step closer to automation success with Zapier.
