Streamline Your E-Commerce: Integrating SamCart with Excel via Zapier

Published on Feb 28th, 2024

In today's fast-paced e-commerce world, efficiently managing your sales data is crucial for success. Many online merchants use SamCart for its ease of creating a checkout experience and analytics, but often need to transfer that data into a more familiar format for deeper analysis – Microsoft Excel. Thankfully, with the power of Zapier, an automation tool that connects your favorite apps, this process can be streamlined.

Integrating SamCart with Excel via Zapier involves a few simple steps:

Step 1: Set Up Your Zapier Account
First, you need to ensure that you have an active Zapier account. Sign up or log in to your Zapier account to get started.

Step 2: Choose Your Trigger App
Once logged in, click on Make a Zap!. Select SamCart as your trigger app. You will be prompted to 'Choose Trigger Event',—select an event like 'New Order'. This will set Zapier to look out for any new orders in your SamCart account.

Step 3: Connect SamCart to Zapier
After selecting your trigger, connect your SamCart account to Zapier by logging in with your credentials. Zapier will need permission to access your SamCart data.

Step 4: Set Up Your Trigger
Designate specific criteria for your SamCart trigger. For example, you might choose to only send data to Excel when orders exceed a certain amount, or when a new customer makes a purchase.

Step 5: Select Your Action App
Now, choose Microsoft Excel as your action app. You'll be tasked to pick an 'Action Event', which in this case, could be 'Add Row'. This will create a new row in an Excel spreadsheet whenever your SamCart trigger event occurs.

Step 6: Connect Excel to Zapier
Just like with SamCart, you’ll need to give Zapier permission to access your Excel account. Sign in with your Microsoft credentials and grant the necessary permissions.

Step 7: Customize Your Data
Map the fields from SamCart to the corresponding columns in your Excel spreadsheet. This means correlating data points, like customer name, email address, order amount, and any other relevant information from your SamCart order to the Excel sheet columns.

Step 8: Test and Turn On Your Zap
Before going live with your Zap, it’s wise to perform a test. Zapier will allow you to test by pulling in a recent order from SamCart and populating your Excel sheet with the data. If everything looks good, turn on your Zap, and watch as your orders from SamCart automatically fill in your Excel spreadsheet in real-time.

Having SamCart and Excel connected through Zapier means less time spent on manual data entry and more time analyzing your sales to make informed business decisions.

Remember to monitor your Zaps for any issues and update them as needed for any changes in your process or apps.”
