Switch Fax terms and acceptable use
Version 2026-10-27. These terms supplement the Switch Labs terms and privacy policy.
Sending and payment
A one-time fax costs $1.99 for up to 10 transmitted pages, including a cover sheet, plus $0.15 per additional page, up to 50 pages. We place a card authorization hold at confirmation and capture it only after a complete transmission succeeds. Failed faxes are not charged. Your bank may take several days to remove a canceled hold.
A partial transmission is not charged. You may choose to retry at the original quoted price, with one charge after a complete transmission succeeds. The recipient may already have some pages. The choice expires after 48 hours or 24 hours before the card authorization expires, whichever comes first. An expired authorization requires a new one.
If the result remains uncertain for 24 hours, or until 24 hours before authorization expires, we release the payment or credits. The recipient may still have received the fax. Later evidence can establish delivery without a new charge.
Prepaid pages
A 100-page pack costs $9.99, charged at purchase. Credits do not expire. Failed outgoing faxes release reserved pages. Unused prepaid packs are refundable on request within 30 days of purchase. Credits already consumed cannot be refunded.
Dedicated inbox
An inbox costs $9.99 per month and includes 100 sent or received pages per billing cycle. Each additional page costs $0.10, charged after the cycle. You may set a spending cap or set it to zero to decline overage. Usage alerts are sent at 80% and 100%. A 20-page receiving grace allowance applies after a cap is reached; after that we pause new receiving. Grace pages above the allowance are still billed at $0.10 per page. An accepted fax is always completed and stored.
Extra-page balances below $0.50 carry forward until they reach the payment processor's minimum charge. A remaining balance below that minimum is not charged when the final cancellation hold ends. A usage payment that needs authentication or a different card can be completed from the fax dashboard. Unpaid usage has the same limited receiving grace as a failed monthly payment. Usage that arrives after a cycle's final billed snapshot is absorbed by Switch Labs.
Canceling stops new receiving. We hold your number for 30 days for reactivation or port-out before releasing it. A failed subscription payment permits limited receiving during the grace allowance; documents become viewable when payment is resolved. Number availability, port-out timing and carrier support vary. Request port-out from your dashboard before the hold ends.
Authorized use
You must have permission to send the documents to the destination. Unsolicited advertisements, bulk faxing, fraud, harassment and illegal content are prohibited. Do not send protected health information or documents requiring a HIPAA business associate agreement. Report unwanted faxes to support@switchlabs.dev with the sending number and time; we may block destinations or accounts and hold suspicious documents for review.
Documents and receipts
Choosing to fax uploads your PDF to private server storage. The original is preserved and a separate transmission copy is prepared with a sender header on every page. Documents and received faxes are deleted after 30 days under the retention policy. Receipts and billing records are retained under our billing record policy. A faxed eSign document is an image copy; its sealed original remains in eSign.
A receipt records carrier-confirmed transmission, not receipt, reading or acceptance by a person. Preview quality is approximate. We cannot guarantee successful transmission to every machine. You are responsible for verifying any filing or other deadline directly with the recipient.
