Step-by-Step Guide to Closing Your Zapier Account

Published on Feb 28th, 2024

Are you considering a farewell to your Zapier account? Whether you're simplifying your automations or moving to a different service, closing your account is a straightforward process. Here, we'll guide you through the steps to deactivate your account with Zapier, ensuring that your data is securely and properly managed during the termination process.

Before you proceed, please note that deactivating your account will result in the permanent loss of access to your zaps and data associated with your account. If you think you might return to Zapier in the future, or if you want to retain your configurations, consider downgrading to a free plan rather than deleting your account entirely.

Step 1: Back-Up Important Data
Make sure to back up any important data or zaps that you may want to refer to later. Once you delete your account, recovering this information may not be possible.

Step 2: Cancel Any Subscriptions
If you have a paid subscription, you'll need to cancel it before you can close your account. To cancel, navigate to your Zapier dashboard, click on your profile icon, select 'Billing,' and follow the prompts to cancel your subscription.

Step 3: Contact Customer Support
Zapier requires you to reach out to their customer support to finalize the account deletion process. While logged in, visit the Zapier support page and submit a request for account deactivation.

Step 4: Confirm Account Closure
Customer support will reach out via email to confirm your request. You may be asked to verify your identity or provide additional feedback. Ensure to follow their instructions carefully to confirm the closure of your account.

Step 5: What to Expect After Deletion
After your account has been deactivated, you will no longer have access to your zaps or any other data in your Zapier account. Keep in mind that it may take a little while for all your data to be fully purged from their system in accordance with Zapier's data retention policies.

Closing your Zapier account is as simple as following these steps, but remember to proceed cautiously to safeguard your data. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, Zapier's customer support is there to help.
