The host should connect the OEM account that can control the vehicle. Guestpass needs lock/unlock readiness, not just read-only telemetry.

Smartcar is one provider path inside Guestpass. The guest workflow stays provider-agnostic.
Check freshness
Stale vehicle location or lock-state telemetry should be resolved before a guest arrives. Guestpass warns hosts before session creation.
Classify failures
Provider auth, vehicle unreachable, rate limit, configuration, and unknown provider errors should route to support with fallback instructions.
Keep the fallback
Smartcar/OEM access can fail due to provider or cellular issues. The guest still needs a physical fob/key fallback path.
